Pittsburgh-based Gather AI, a provider of autonomous drone AI software for warehouse and supply chain visibility, recently hired Larisa Summers as its new head of marketing.

Summers aims to further accelerate Gather AI’s growth momentum by contributing her over 10 years of supply chain and over 20 years marketing experience. She will highlight impact stories from Gather AI customers, accelerate the brand as the company deepens market penetration, and introduce new automation and inventory visibility analytics systems to the supply chain market.

Summers brings experience from startups turned Fortune 500s

Prior to Gather AI, Summers served as chief marketing officer of both global lifestyle hospitality company Convene and software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider Optoro. During these years, she was named to WWD's “Women Leaders in Business” list.

Additionally, she led marketing for venture-funded startups that became Fortune 500 companies including TheFind (acquired by Facebook), Buy.com (acquired by Rakuten), Best Buy, and Zumba Fitness.

“The market is still feeling the effects of supply chain disruption post-COVID, and warehouse automation and inventory visibility is a top strategic priority for the C-Suite,” Summers said. “The Gather AI team combines award-winning engineering talent with a total focus on solving critical customer needs. I look forward to telling their stories and helping accelerate the adoption of this innovative solution.”

Gather AI hired CTO Hoffman, raised $17 million in past year

Over the past year, Gather AI doubled the number of warehouses it serves, increased bookings by two and a half times and raised $17 million in Series A-1 funding, with $34 million raised to date. It also hired CTO Andrew Hoffman, who was a founding engineer at Kiva Systems - now Amazon Robotics - and CANVAS Technology.

The company was recognized in the CB Insights AI 100, received multiple awards with supply chain trade outlets, and spoke at Manifest, Shoptalk, GS1 Connect, and other industry conferences.
