Geek Plus Technology Co. announced today that it has deployed more than 150 of its goods-to-person robots at the facility of a heating, ventilation, and air condition specialist in northwestern Germany. With a warehouse that stores over 80,000 different products, OEG is taking advantage of Geek+’s P800 picking robots and custom-made shelving.
The systems were installed in OEG’s warehouse in Hessisch Odendorf, Germany. The facility stores OEG’s different spare parts and accessories for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. The warehouse is also used to supply wholesalers and manufacturers in Germany and international markets.
Geek+ noted that the installation took three months and did not disrupt operations.
“In order to scale our business and manage rising operational costs, we turned to flexible automation with Geek+ instead of traditional methods,” said Benjamin Löffeld, project manager at OEG. “We are extremely pleased with how quickly they got the system up and running and how smoothly the AMRs were integrated into our warehouse.”

OEG said that 95% of its “catalogue articles” are stored in its 30,000 m (7.4 acres) warehouse. It added that it sends its good to customers within the next business day of when they ordered them.
The warehouse has a wide array of specialized products that require unique storage solutions. Geek+ said it has designed shelves that match all of OEG’s product SKUs. The company added its engineers studied OEG’s warehouse operations and developed a plan that would cause minimum site disruption. The picking robots were installed in stages and did not greatly change the material flow process.
“We were able to take our flagship goods-to-person system and easily adapt it to OEG’s business in record time and with no business interruption,” said Mark Schellinger, vice president of solutions at Geek+.
Earlier this month, Geek+ announced that it had established a formal agreement with 50 integrators to scale up its international marketing efforts. The Beijing-based company was founded in 2015 and said it applies advanced robotics and artificial intelligence to help offer flexible, reliable, and highly efficient robots to a variety of markets.
It sells smart forklifts, sortation systems, goods-to-person (G2P) picking robots, storage and ground-picking systems, and totes-to-person robots, as well as collaborative AMRs and software. It offers them through a robotics-as-a-service (RaaS) model.
Geek+ said it has over 1500 employees, with offices in Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, Japan, South Korea, Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, and Singapore.
It has raised more than $539 million in funding, according to Crunchbase.
