Flexiv announced the launch of Elements Series 3, the latest update of its adaptive robot control system allowing for simpler robotic application development and simulation.

Flexiv, a global provider of general-purpose robotics offerings, announced the launch of Elements Series 3, the latest evolution of its adaptive robot control system that makes programming faster, easier and more capable than ever before.

Flexiv’s engineers have reimagined the user experience from the ground up, according to the company, focusing on human-centered design and advanced, semi-automated features.

New Teach Pendant, redesigned Motion Bar

With a new rugged Teach Pendant, and intuitive software, robotic programmers of any skill level can easily create and manage robotic applications regardless of their location.

Another update to the offering is the ability to create programs from scratch with the Elements Studio’s robotic simulation capability. This 3D simulation tool allows users to design, test and refine their applications before deploying them in the real-world. The Teach Pendant is fully compatible across PCs and all Flexiv robots. The company says that Elements Studio reduces deployment time and minimizes risk by allowing thorough testing in a virtual setting.

Flexiv has also redesigned the Motion Bar to put complete control at an operator’s fingertips.

Based on user feedback, the Motion Bar now includes a status indicator light and dedicated buttons for mode switching, Freedrive and Jogging.

Flexiv has also enabled support for multiple external axes, bringing users seven-plus degrees of freedom motion control. The company says this extra flexibility and adaptability of Elements 3 makes the software ideal for complex tasks involving dual-axis rotary platforms or linear guide rails.

Elements 3 also features enhanced drag-and-drop function blocks - known as primitives - that help users of all backgrounds accelerate the application-building process and reduce programming time.

When users combine the ability to build applications by physically moving a robot into position in Freedrive mode, it removes the need for complex and time-consuming programming. This hands-on approach means anyone can quickly and efficiently build, test and perfect their application.

The update is fully compatible with all Flexiv robots, including the Moonlight Adaptive Parallel Robot.
