Flexiv and Handplus Robotics have announced they are working together to expand their customer bases in Singapore and Malaysia. Systems integrator Handplus will begin offering Flexiv’s general purpose robot arms to customers in its network.
Flexiv sells a range of seven-axis robots that feature force-controlled sensors. Robots include the Rizon 4, the Rizon 4s, and the Rizon 10. It is headquartered in Santa Clara, Calif., and has offices in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Foshan, Taiwan and Singapore. It was founded in 2016 and has raised a total of $196 million, according to Crunchbase.
Flexiv said in the past few years, there has been an increased demand for its robots in the Asia Pacific market.
HandPlus has a growing presense in the Asia Pacifc region
Handplus focuses on selling robotic pick and place systems for logistics, e-commerce fulfillment, warehousing, medical services, and healthcare industries. It was founded in 2018 and was spun out of Nanyang Technology University Sinagpore.
“This partnership with Handplus will enable more end-users to take advantage of the opportunities afforded by adaptive robotic technology,” stated Owen Wu, Flexiv’s senior sales manager for the Asia Pacific Region. “We have seen substantial growth over the past two years, and this strategic partnership with Handplus will enable us to expand our market presence without compromising the service we provide to our clients.”
“Working together, Flexiv and Handplus will enable customized smart solutions to be created, which will reduce the effects of labor bottlenecks and decrease the ROI period,” Wu added.
“Flexiv is the ideal partner for us as they offer a different kind of robotic arm which is a game-changer for applications which require sensitivity and fast response times,: stated Albert Causco, CEO and founder of Handplus. “The added functionality of a seventh axis and the force control capacity has opened an extra dimension of possibility for us.”
“If robots are to be used for tasks which require human-like dexterity and sensitivity, Flexiv has the robots to do it,” he said. “We are confident that our partnership will be mutually beneficial, and we look forward to what will surely be a very successful 2023.”
