Framos operations on Ottowa will join those in Germany, Great Britain, Italy, France, Russia and Taiwan.

Framos, a leader in machine vision, has expanded its operations to North America and opened Framos Technologies Inc. in Ottawa, Canada.

“Our aim is to enable our customers as manufacturers, system integrators, and researchers to apply and benefit from machine vision and imaging technologies,” said Andreas Franz, CEO of Framos. “Based on the disproportional demand from North America and our excellent on-site industry network, we are extremely excited to complete our global imaging services and to continue the growth of Framos. As one of the founding companies in imaging, we are happy to serve our customers worldwide.”

Machine vision is the technology used to provide imaging-based automatic inspection and analysis for such applications as automatic inspection, process control, and robot guidance in industry. Several recent industry reports predict an ongoing increase of the machine vision market including a growing demand from North America.

With more than 30 years of experience, Framos is able to support its customers with a broad service portfolio along the value chain, beginning with engineering and purchasing to after-sales of different image sensors, cameras, optics, lighting, cables and image acquisition components.

Dr. Ronald Müller, managing director of Framos Technologies Inc., said, “Our success in Europe shows that Framos successfully enables manufacturers as well as system integrators and researchers to greatly benefit from modern imaging technologies. With our office in Canada we will accompany our customers, who have globally distributed development and production sites from Russia over Europe to North America, with local contacts and services.”

The complete portfolio will be announced to North America at The Vision Show, which will be held April 15-17, 2014 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Mass.
