But this year’s story revolves around the improved scores cross the entire regional category, signaling that this year’s Quest for Quality winners have come out of the Great Recession with a full head of steam.

Leading the way in the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic region for the sixth year in the row is A. Duie Pyle with an impressive 49.32 weighted average score. New Penn Motor Express put up a 47.91 average, taking Quest for Quality gold for the second year in a row, while perennial winner Pitt Ohio (46.46) and Ward Transport Logistics (46.44) round out the category that saw scores up by .5 to a full point.

Only one carrier beat the weighted average in the South/South Central region. Southeastern Freight Lines, another perennial winner, posted a 49.30 to take home Quest for Quality gold. In the Midwest/North Central region we found Dayton Freight Lines and Holland battling it out again for top spot yet again. Dayton put up a 47.12 total score while Holland put an equally impressive 47.09.

Storming to an impressive win out West, perennial Quest for Quality winner Lynden Transport put up a 49.80, the highest overall average posted in the entire regional category. According to readers, Lynden was tops in four out of five of our key criteria this year, posting 11.67 in On-time Performance, 11.44 in Value, 8.23 in Information Technology, and 10.04 in Customer Service. Readers tell us that Mountain Valley Express was tops in Equipment & Operations this year with a 8.47. Oak Harbor Freight Lines edged in second in the category this year, posting a 48.17, just 1.63 points behind Lynden.
