Sarcos Technology and Robotics Corp. last week announced that it has moved into a new headquarters and production facility in the Granary District of Salt Lake City. The company said its move to the new space comes as it completes commercialization of its industrial exoskeleton and teleoperated industrial robotic avatar products.
“We are thrilled to be in our new, state-of-the-art headquarters,” stated Ben Wolff, chairman and CEO of Sarcos. “With the significant company growth we are expecting over the next several years, we needed a building that could accommodate additional employees as well initial production of our flagship commercial products.”
Sarcos offers robotic systems to augment worker performance by combining human intelligence, instinct, and judgment with the strength, endurance, and precision of machines to enhance employee safety and productivity.
The company said it has leveraged more than 30 years of research and development in designing its mobile systems to change the nature of physically demanding work in sectors such as construction, defense, logistics, and utilities.
Its systems include the Guardian S inspection robot, the Guardian GT mobile manipulator, the Guardian XO full-body industrial exoskeleton, and Guardian XT teleoperated avatar.
Sarcos completed a $260 million merger with special-purpose acquisition company (SPAC) Rotor Acquisition Corp. and began trading on the Nasdaq in September.
