RobotLAB, which received recognition at the Daytime Beauty Awards, has applied robotics and AI to health, hospitality, and education applications.

RobotLAB Inc. last week won the Innovation Award at the fifth annual Daytime Beauty Awards. The event, founded by Michele Elyzabeth, recognized industry leaders, scientists, doctors, and celebrity beauty brands, as well as the affect of artificial intelligence on the beauty, health, and wellness sectors.

“We salute Elad and his team, including Abby [Brookshire, marketing brand manager], and Mitchell [Bergman, solutions engineer], for all of their efforts in teaching the importance of robots and the human connection,” said Pamela Price, executive producer of the Daytime Beauty Awards.

“In a world where there is so much negativity surrounding AI and robotics, RobotLAB sheds light on the positive aspects and how bots like Pepper can further advance our ways and quality of life,” she added. “There is beauty in technological innovations.”

Integrator deploys 10,000+ robots

“As robotics and AI are central to critical business conversations across countless industries, we are proud to be recognized by Daytime Beauty Awards for our longstanding commitment to the accessibility and acceptance of life-enhancing robotic technology,” stated Elad Inbar, founder and CEO of RobotLAB.

“Awareness continues to grow for the tremendous impact robotics and AI are having on the health, wellness, and beauty industries, and this sector is one of many where businesses continue to be improved in expected—and perhaps even unexpected—ways,” he said.

For more than 15 years, RobotLAB said it has provided “turnkey” systems to companies of all sizes in industries such as food service, hospitality, banking, education, and assisted living. The Dallas-based integrator said it has deployed more than 10,000 robots.

RobotLAB added that it oversees all aspects of the robotics integration process – from sales and tailored programming to onsite integration and repairs. It asserted that it can help businesses improve performance.

Pepper participates in awards event

The Daytime Beauty Awards recognized RobotLAB for its product portfolio, which includes systems for operating room sanitation, dementia patent care, fashion recommendations by body type, and customer service at cannabis retailers. The company's robots have even participated in a fashion show run by high school students.

Inbar and his team brought Pepper to the awards ceremony, where it greeted attendees. The hospitality robot also helped introduce the Innovation category with 2018 Innovation Award honoree and former NASA scientist Tamim Hamid, the founder of Theradome.

“Robots have always fascinated me,” said Elyzabeth. “Thanks to Elad of RobotLAB and his team, I have had the pleasure to meet Pepper at the Daytime Beauty Awards.”

“Robots such as Pepper have been helping children in schools and dementia patients in hospitals, bringing them joy, even if it is just for a moment,” she added. “Robots are the future.”

RobotLAB franchise grows

Earlier this month, RobotLAB renewed its partnership with United Robotics Group, the current owner of Aldebaran, to distribute the NAO and Pepper humanoids. SoftBank Group previously owned Aldebaran.

RobotLAB said it has deployed nearly 7,000 NAO educational robots and 600 Pepper service robots since 2009. The company has integrated NAO into K-12 schools and universities across the U.S.

It is also deploying more than 150 STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) carts, which include NAO robots, to every public school in American Samoa.

The company also developed the exclusive NAO AI-Edition, which uses chatbots and other tools to make AI accessible through robots.

RobotLAB also signed its second franchise deal in North Carolina with Panya LLC, just weeks after similar agreements in Charlotte, N.C., and Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas.
