Yaskawa America’s Motoman Robotics Division has announced the opening of a new facility in Queretaro, Mexico.
The office officially opened on November 1, 2013 to become the company’s third location in Mexico. The new 5,000-square-foot facility will house approximately six employees, with the plan to expand the employee base as the company expands its operations. The office will be used for sales, training, parts warehousing and robot demonstrations.
“With the recent growth of our customer base in the region, we knew that we needed to expand our support team and have a more local presence,” stated Doug Schenher, vice president, customer satisfaction group. “The establishment of a new regional office in Queretaro allows us to accomplish this. We will now be able to provide more local training, service and parts fulfillment. Additionally, we have ample, high bay shop floor space available for robot demonstrations to show potential customers and local integrators.”
Mexico continues to grow throughout most industries. The automotive industry is the fastest growing, with many automotive suppliers expanding their manufacturing efforts in Mexico in 2014. Additional fast-growing industries include aerospace, medical device, consumer products and electronics.
Yaskawa Motoman also has facilities in Rochester Hills, Michigan; Irvine, California; Mississauga and Pointe Claire, Canada; Aguascalientes and Apodaca, Mexico and Diadema - SP, Brazil.
