ResGreen Group International Inc. today said it is assembling 10 bi-directional BigBuddy automated guided vehicles, or AGVs, to be delivered next month to a Tier 1 automotive supplier. The new systems will include the BotWay open-architecture software and will deliver line-side materials and move finished products to a staging area.

“This project exemplifies ResGreen’s commitment to bringing leading-edge mobile robots and interoperable software to midsize businesses,” stated Parsh Patel, CEO of ResGreen.

“We offer cost-effective, interoperable products that are propelling businesses of all sizes into a future of enhanced efficiency, productivity, and profitability,” he said in a release. The project is worth $450,000.

ResGreen combines AI, simulation, and AGVs

Shelby Township, Mich.-based ResGreen said it combines mobile robots and artificial intelligence for Industry 4.0 and human-centric manufacturing principles of “Industry 5.0.” The company said its systems can help boost productivity, reduce costs, and enable data-driven decisions.

ResGreen said it integrates multi-platform communication, optimizing workplaces with AI, Unreal Engine simulations, and collaborative human-robot interfaces. It said its seasoned team also offers comprehensive support and training.

In addition, ResGreen claimed that it aligns with Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, and analytics standards.

Robots to rely on LoRa communication

In the automotive supplier project, BotWay and the BigBuddy AGVs will use LoRa wireless system, which ResGreen said “is quickly becoming a breakthrough technology for IoT communication.” LoRa does not require an Internet connection and works in environments without Wi-Fi, it said.

LoRa allows companies to easily implement high-tech equipment and software without creating IT challenges such as decreasing bandwidth, according to ResGreen.

The company said its engineers will oversee the assembly and testing of the BigBuddy AGVs to ensure they meet its high-quality safety and operational standards. BigBuddy is a reversing AGV that uses magnetic tape to move loads up to 5,000 lb. (2,267.9 kg).

LoRa is the de facto wireless platform of IoT, created by Semtech.
