Raymour & Flanigan Furniture and Mattresses yesterday announced that it has partnered with Körber Supply Chain on warehouse improvements to improve order accuracy, speed, and customer fulfillment. The companies said the new technologies will enhance the customer shopping experience.

A family business founded in 1947, Raymour & Flanigan began with one store in Syracuse, N.Y. It has grown to more than 104 showrooms, 36 outlet stores, five clearance centers, a rapidly growing e-commerce business, and 7,000 employees. The Liverpool, N.Y.-based company claimed that it is the largest furniture and mattress retailer in the Northeast and the seventh largest nationwide.
Raymour & Flanigan to strengthen customer support
Raymour & Flanigan said it is known is known for its modern, quality home furnishings and quick delivery offering. To adapt to changing consumer demands and support its next stage of growth, the retailer said it has decided to reduce manual processes and upgrade its technology systems.
The partnership with Körber will help Raymour & Flanigan by providing a modern warehouse management system (WMS) and software to support its customers' shopping journeys, said the companies.

Market analysis firm Gartner Inc. listed Körber as a “Leader” in the 2022 “Gartner Magic Quadrant for WMS” report.
Körber Supply Chain offers end-to-end technologies
Structural trends and market forces, including e-commerce, multi-channel, and micro-fulfilment, are amplifying the need for digital solutions to handle increased volume and overcome greater supply chain complexity, said Körber Suply Chain.
Körber Business Area Supply Chain is a unit of Hamburg, Germany-based Körber, which has about 12,000 employees and more than 100 locations worldwide. It said its portfolio includes robotics and automation, mail and parcel systems, software, voice and vision technology, and materials handling systems – plus the expertise to tie it all together.
For instance, the company said it can combine the K.Motion WMS with autonomous mobile robotics (AMRs), the K.Motion Warehouse Control System (WCS), K.Sight CLASS for warehouse design and simulation, and other systems. This gives businesses have the technology “to revolutionize the end-to-end supply chain—from source to doorstep delivery,” said Körber.
Also this week, Körber said it has developed Downstream, “a total solution to manage the sorting of products from pallets to trays.” The system can sort up to 2,400 items per hour, with sorted packages being redistributed and loaded onto a tray with one to six items on each tray. Körber said Downstream builds on its “digital enablement” goals.
