OPLOG today announced that it has opened its first U.S. warehouse in Chicago. The new fulfillment center boasts 10,000 sq. m (107,639 sq. ft.) of floor space and uses the company's automation and warehouse management technologies.
“The United States remains an immensely vital market for the e-commerce industry, and its significance continues to grow,” said Halit Develioğlu, CEO of OPLOG, in a press release. “It comes as no surprise that numerous businesses across the globe aspire to enter the U.S. market and establish a strong presence here.”
Founded in 2013, OPLOG said it enables e-commerce brands to operate in various markets through its international fulfillment network and ability to track inventory and operational processes. The Istanbul-based company claimed that it is Turkey's “fastest growing tech-enabled fulfillment company,” with warehouses in Ankara, Istanbul, Gebze, and Dilovasi in Turkey, as well as near London and Chicago.
OPLOG said it has served global brands including Sony, Herbalife, and Tupperware. With the latest €11 milion ($11.85 million U.S.) investment from ESAS Private Equity, the company added that it employs over 350 staffers, including 100 engineers and developers.
OPLOG offers fulfillment technology
OPLOG said it “is on a mission to becoming the preferred partner for growing businesses in the rapidly changing global e-commerce environment.” The company said its proprietary robots and software can enable more cost-efficient order processing, faster delivery times, and increased customer satisfaction.
The company said it developed the TARQAN robot in-house to improve business quality by up to 300%. Warehouses can use the mobile robot for applications such as depalletizing or inducting items into sortation. TARQAN can ultimately reduce labor costs while maximizing efficiency, it claimed.
In addition, OPLOG said its international network integrates its user-friendly inventory management software with physical fulfillment operations. Clients can control their operations through OPLOG-ONE, a single unified dashboard, further enhancing their customers' global reach, it said.
U.S. expansion part of global strategy
OPLOG said its new fulfillment center will provide logistics services to clients “with unprecedented convenience.” It will also further the company's goal of growing around the world.
The new Chicago warehouse offers significant benefits to business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) companies by localizing their distribution and fulfillment operations and providing room for growth, said OPLOG. Chicago is home to O'Hare International Airport, 35 Fortune 500 corporate headquarters, hundreds of warehouses and distribution centers, and an extensive network of highways and railways, it noted.
“Omnichannel fulfillment is the new era for B2B and B2C enterprises,” stated Develioğlu. “As we look ahead to the future of fulfillment, its reach extends far beyond the realm of e-commerce businesses. Our new fulfillment center in Chicago will provide a comprehensive solution that combines the efficiencies of e-commerce fulfillment with the adaptability required for B2B operations.”
In addition, OPLOG said it plans to strategically expand into new European cities later this year.
