Niryo, a collaborative robotics company based in France, launched its Niryo Studio, a software application that aims to simplify the use of robots. The program reduces the barrier to entry for robot users and limits the technical background required to operate the machine.
The company leans heavily into the Industry 4.0 concept to promote better interactions between humans and robots.
Improving the user experience
Niryo Studio looks to improve the user experience with Nirvo’s robots. The application allows for fast connection and configuration of the Niryo NED2 to simplify the use of collaborative robotics. Users can also choose to connect all external devices linked to the robot and manage them from the application. Nirvo Studio provides navigation and guest access management that allows for easier access for both teachers and students for cobot control.
The NED2 robot can be used for a wide range of applications, such as programming practice, an introduction to artificial intelligence and Industry 5.0, or to reproduce real-life work situations. Because Nirvo Studio acts like a software program on a computer, the organization hopes it makes the control of its robots and subsequent programs simpler.
In addition to robot control, Niryo Studio offers 3D visualization of all previously connected components with its Unity tool. Combined with the Direct Move tool, this feature enables specific robot position adjustments, simplified object handling and more precise robot operation.
Programming becomes child's play
Niryo Studio's integrated Python IDE marks a significant step forward in simplifying the programming process. This feature allows users to code directly in the Python language, offering a powerful alternative to programmers. It is also possible to transform a program coded in Blockly into Python, making it even easier to learn the world's most widely used programming language. This new feature also makes it quicker and easier to connect to the robot.
Combined with the application's Blockly tool, coders can create complex programs easier, and help make cobots accessible to a wider audience. What's more, the ability to save, play, modify and replay the programs created leaves room for higher user flexibility.
