Well, another great Modex materials handling/supply chain show is in the record books, and this year’s event was definitely worth attending and participating in. As I navigated my way among the exhibit booths on the expo floor every day, I was impressed at the level of innovation and technological advancements that each supplier brought to the show. From cutting-edge robotics to user-friendly software to state-of-the art storage equipment, exhibitors at this premier trade show clearly put their best feet forward when presenting themselves to the 25,000+ attendees.

And speaking of attendees, many were on a mission to find the latest and greatest in materials handling and supply chain technology. “Very few are just ‘roaming around,’” said Rob DeStefano, Wavelink’s product marketing manager. “We’ve met a lot of people who have very specific needs relative to our product offering. That really makes this trade show different than most others.”

I spoke to a few first-time exhibitors who felt the same way, and who were downright overwhelmed by the response that they were getting at the show. “Our booth is packed with people wanting to see our product in action,” said Tom Galluzzo, IAM Robotics’ CEO, who had to clear some of these folks away to do our quick photo shoot for the Show Daily.

To sum things up, the show itself, the way it’s organized, and the group of individuals who put the time and energy into it seem to be getting better and better every year. It was great to get out and meet everyone…see you next year at Promat!
