Locus Robotics has again been named one of the fastest-growing companies in the U.S. by Inc., reflecting warehouse demand for its mobile robots and data analytics software.

Mobile robotics vendors face many of the same challenges as their customers in manufacturing, logistics, and e-commerce—supply chain strains, shortages of skilled labor, and less available capital. Locus Robotics Corp. has managed to thrive in these conditions, announcing today that Inc. Magazine has named it to the Inc. 5000 list for the third year in a row.

The annual list recognizes the fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. and their achievements in business development and innovation.

“We are incredibly proud and honored to again be recognized on the Inc. 5000 list,” said Rick Faulk, CEO of Locus Robotics, in a press release. “This achievement acknowledges not only the dedication and hard work of our team, but also a reflection of the growing importance of warehouse automation in today's dynamic business landscape.”

“As we continue to revolutionize the industry with our innovative, AI-powered robotics solutions, we remain committed to driving operational efficiencies for our customers and empowering the human workforce with cutting-edge technology that leads the way in transforming the future of warehousing and logistics,” he said.

Industry observers applaud leadership

“Running a business has only gotten harder since the end of the pandemic,” stated Scott Omelianuk, editor in chief of Inc. “To make the Inc. 5000 with the fast growth that requires is truly an accomplishment. Inc. is thrilled to honor the companies that are building our future.”

“Locus Robotics' third consecutive appearance on the Inc. 5000 list is a testament to their continued excellence and leadership in the warehouse automation sector,” added Ash Sharma, managing director of Interact Analysis. “Locus' innovative approach to leveraging autonomous mobile robots underscores not only their strong growth trajectory, but also their significant contribution to reshaping the logistics landscape around the world.”

Locus Robotics claimed that its commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction has earned it a growing customer base across e-commerce, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers. The company raised $117 million in Series F funding in November 2022, it completed more than 230 million picks during last year's holiday shopping peak, and DHL Supply Chain plans to deploy 5,000 Locus Origin robots across multiple sites.

“The Inc. 5000 recognition reflects Locus Robotics' impressive growth rate over the past several years and solidifies its position as a trailblazer in the robotics industry,” said the Wilmington, Mass.-based company. “As the demand for automation and intelligent robotics solutions continues to grow, Locus Robotics remains dedicated to pushing the boundaries of innovation and helping businesses build a more efficient and productive future.”

About Locus Robotics' technologies

Locus Robotics claimed that its autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) are designed to work with human warehouse associates, enhancing fulfillment efficiency, improving workplace ergonomics, and doubling or tripling productivity.

The company said its advanced algorithms and real-time data analysis enable companies to optimize their warehouse layouts, reduce travel times, and increase picking accuracy rates, ultimately resulting in faster order processing and reduced operational costs.

The LocusOne platform uses AI and data science to smoothly orchestrate enterprise-scale, multi-form-factor automation within a single coordinated platform, said Locus Robotics. LocusOne is designed to optimize robotic task allocation, route planning, and resource use while delivering real-time insights into warehouse operations.

Locus said that it supports more than 120 of the world's top brands and that its systems are deployed at more than 270 sites around the world. In addition, the company is building new global headquarters and last week announced that it and DHL Supply Chain Australia are partnering on their first deployment in the Asia-Pacific region.
