Join MHI’s staff and Board of Governors at Industry Night with comedian Dana Carvey on Wednesday, from 4:30 to 7 p.m., in the McCormick Place South Grand Ballroom, Room S100. Tickets are $50 per guest, and pre-paid at ProMat Attendee Registration on Level 3 of McCormick Place between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Those who purchased their tickets online at promatshow.com can pick them up at the same location by presenting an e-mail confirmation. A portion of ticket sales will be donated to the Material Handling Education Foundation Inc. (MHEFI).
“Response from our last two Industry Nights has been phenomenal, and people really enjoy the opportunity to fit in some additional networking and have a few laughs off the show floor,” said George Prest, CEO of MHI. “Additionally, there’s a lot of excitement surrounding the awards presentations and the door prize drawing, which this year is a luxury package ‘Trip of a Lifetime’ for four people valued at $30,000.” (Official door prize rules can be found at promatshow.com/rules.)
The evening will also feature the presentation of the 2017 Innovation Awards in three categories: Best New Innovation, Best Innovation of an Existing Product and Best Information Technology (IT) Innovation. Separately, MHI will honor a supply chain professional with the second annual Face of the Supply Chain Award. The winner, selected from entries submitted to the iWorkInTheSupplyChain.com Website, will epitomize the hard work, creative thinking and commitment to innovation that it takes to succeed in the industry. The MHI Young Professionals Network will also be presenting their annual awards.
In addition to enjoying beer, wine and heavy hors d’oeuvres, the featured entertainment for the evening will be from Saturday Night Live alumni and Emmy Award-winning comedian Dana Carvey.
Currently serving as the expert-in-residence on USA Network’s half-hour series “First Impressions,” Carvey mentors amateur impressionists competing against each other in a weekly battle. The show is a great fit for his talents, having impersonated a range of well-known politicians and celebrities throughout his career, including ex-President George Bush, H. Ross Perot, Bob Dole, George Burns, Johnny Carson, Jimmy Stewart, Mickey Rooney and Regis Philbin.
Carvey is best known for his Saturday Night Live characters such as the Church Lady; Hans, of the Hans and Franz body building duo; Garth, Wayne Campbell’s (Mike Myers) ‘Excellent Co-Host’ on popular sketch ‘Wayne’s World,’ and Weekend Update’s Grumpy Old Man.
