HAI Robotics has expanded its U.S. presence by opening a Demo Center in Fremont, Calif., that will show four types of robots, three picking workstations, and its HAIQ software.

HAI Robotics U.S.A. Inc. this month announced the grand opening of its Demo Center in Silicon Valley. The company said the center in Fremont, Calif., will feature autonomous case-handling robots, picking workstations, and demonstrations of its software for smart warehouses.

“The HAI Robotics team is very excited to launch this state-of-the-art facility in Fremont,” said Brian Zheng, U.S. general manager at HAI Robotics. “It will enable us to share our groundbreaking technology with local residents, schools, partners, and customers.”

Founded in 2016, HAI Robotics said it serves manufacturers and logistics providers with artificial intelligence and its autonomous case-handling robotic (ACR) system. The Shenzhen, China-based company said it has aquired more than 600 global patents for intellectual properties involving positioning, robot control, and warehouse management.

HAI Robotics, which has more than 1,300 employees worldwide, last year secured more than $200 million in Series C and D funding and celebrated its fifth anniversary.

HAI Robotics expands U.S. presence

HAI Robotics has subsidiaries in Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, the Netherlands, and the U.S., serving customers in more than 30 countries and regions. Its U.S. headquarters and new Demo Center are both in Fremont.

“We provide all required services, including sales, solutions, engineering, implementation, and support,” said the company. It said its U.S. Demo Center will include the following next-generation warehouse automation:

  • Four types of robots: multi-layer, double deep, carton-picking, and telescopic lift
  • Three types of picking workstations: on-robot, on-conveyor, and HAIPORT-powered
  • Demonstrations of its “comprehensive” HAIQ software platform and algorithm

HAIPICK ACR offers warehouse benefits

The HAIPICK ACR system, which was developed in 2015, is the first of its kind, claimed HAI Robotics. The company added that it can provide customers value in several ways.

Not only is it fully compliant with U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and local regulations, but ACR can also be deployed within six weeks upon delivery of the robots, said HAI Robotics. It said it has had 100% success, with 300 successful deployments to date.

The company also boasted that HAIPICK ACR has a 99.9% accuracy, can improve throughput by 300%, and optimizes real estate utilization. Existing sites have been running for three years with annual asset maintenance, HAI Robotics said.

HAI Robotics said it is easy to scale from a few robots to hundreds of robots, providing flexibility. The company added that its systems are designed to be integrated with other autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs) and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs).

“Our innovative warehouse automation technology enables our customers to consistently achieve dramatic improvements in speed, efficiency, and order accuracy,” said Richie Chen, co-founder and CEO of HAI Robotics.

HAI Robotics' HAIPICK A42 robots were deployed for Xinning Logistics in its electronics components warehouse in China. On Jan. 7, the company entered a strategic cooperation to build a smart logistics ecosystem.
