Hai Robotics Co., which produces Autonomous Case-handling Robots, or ACRs, today announced the launch of the telescopic Grapple Hook ACR, the HaiPick A42T-E2, and the HaiPick System 3. The Shenzhen, China-based company said its latest innovations can increase storage density and performance with a smaller warehouse footprint.
“Businesses nowadays are struggling to not only optimize their warehouse space, but also strike a balance between automation and leaving room for growth,” said Peter Guan, general manager for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) at Hai Robotics, in a release.
Hai Robotics claimed that its HaiPick system, independently developed in 2015, was the world's first ACR. The company said it has more than 1,000 projects worldwide and serves customers in more than 30 countries and regions. Its U.S. office is in Fremont, Calif.
In August, Hai Robotics partnered with Logistex, a provider of materials handling automation and software, to provide systems in the U.K. and Ireland.
HaiPick System 3 to increase storage density
The HaiPick System 3 is the latest addition to Hai's portfolio, and the company said it enables storage density up to 50 totes per sq. m and can increase worker efficiency up to six times. HaiPick System 3 is a standardized system incorporating the Grapple Hook ACRs and Fast-transit K50 autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) running at a speed of 4 m/s (8.9 mph).
Hai Robotics said its new system introduces fast deployment and efficient ACR-AMR collaboration. While ACRs handle totes from the top to the bottom of the racks, AMRs can handle rack-bottom totes between racks and workstation swiftly.
In addition, the HaiPick System 3 can facilitate rack expansion by up to five-deep configuration With the telescopic Grapple Hook ACR, it can reach a maximum picking height of up to 10 m (32.8 ft.).
“HaiPick System 3 is a high-performance and agile solution that scales alongside businesses to better achieve instantaneous customer satisfaction,” Guan said. “Combined with the telescopic Grapple Hook ACR, warehouses will be able to achieve a level of performance efficiency and ROI [return on investment] at new heights in both B2B and B2C [business-to-business and business-to-consumer] operations, such as within 3PL [third-party logistics] and apparel industries.”
ChainPick can save space, time
The telescopic Grapple Hook ACR can be integrated within HaiPick System 3, said Hai Robotics.
The HaiPick A42T-E2 features a grappling hook that can pick a tote every 2.7 seconds. The ChainPick technology is key to enabling up to five-deep tote storage capacity, shortening pick-and-place times and streamlining the goods-to-person workflow, asserted the company.
“Horizontal space in between totes can be slashed by 60%, ensuring no space gap at the back and hence optimizing existing warehouse storage space,” said Hai Robotics. “Businesses are also offered tailored solutions to scale up or down, allowing them to maintain a competitive edge without compromising on financial agility, while still achieving cost efficiency.”
“We are thrilled with the launch of the HaiPick A42T-E2,” said Guan. “This project encapsulates our commitment to providing intelligent, flexible, and efficient solutions for the modern warehousing industry, while keeping in mind the growing and dynamic needs of this market on a global scale.”
Davide Tuzi, country manager for Italy at Hai Robotics, will discuss more details in an upcoming episode of HaiPulse webinar. It is scheduled to air at 9:30 a.m. (CET) on Oct. 20 and will analyze the company's two innovations.
