Geekplus Technology Co. said its goods-to-person picking systems will help efficiently and accurately prepare free treat bags to be distributed during Singapore's National Day Parade on Aug. 9.
“Geek+ is proud to be part of preparing Singapore for National Day Parade,” stated Dave Ching, director of sales for Southeast Asia and India at Geek+, in a release.
“Our mission is to enable affordable, efficient, and safe logistics processes in warehousing,” he added. “We strive to continually improve our products and solutions to help Singapore enhance efficiency and productivity in today's ever-changing environment.”
Founded in 2015, Geek+ said it develops autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) for flexible and reliable automation for warehouses. The Beijing-based company has more than 1,500 employees worldwide, with offices in Singapore and San Diego, among other locations.
Rapid deployment for National Day Parade
The National Day Parade (NDP) commemorates Singapore's independence from Malaysia. This year's theme is “Onward as One,” which the country said embodies its forward-thinking mentality and resilience in the face of challenges.
In line with this theme, Geek+ said its robots will streamline the process of preparing the NDP giveaway bags. The company's goods-to-person systems automate the picking process by transporting inventory from shelves directly to the picker at the picking station who then assembles the goody bags for distribution.
Geek+ also noted that its AMRs were fully online and automating the picking process in two months. “The fast and easy implementation of Geek+ robots made them the perfect choice for this project,” it said.
Geek+ serves Singapore market
The growth of the e-commerce market in Singapore is projected to reach $10 billion (U.S.) by 2026, according to the International Trade Administration.
“As the demand for speedy one-day delivery continues to rise in the e-commerce sector, the adoption of robotics in warehouses is predicted to increase to keep pace with the rising demand for faster service by the end customer,” said Geek+.
The company added that warehouse owners can use its automation to enhance picking efficiency, reduce waiting times, and ultimately increasing customer satisfaction and loyalty. It claimed that robotics can elevate warehousing and logistics competitiveness.
In addition, Geek+ said that it has provided innovative systems in Singapore for several years and strategically located its ASEAN headquarters there.
“Taking part in this project showcases Geek+'s dedication to delivering cutting-edge and impactful solutions to our valued clients in Singapore while also making a positive contribution to the long-term growth of the country's economy,” the company stated.
