Fizyr has been recognized in the AI TechAwards for its vision-based AI, which is intended to improve robot performance in variable logistics tasks such as picking.

Fizyr BV, which provides computer vision software for robots, yesterday said it has won the 2023 AI TechAward in the Visual/Image Machine Learning category. The AI TechAwards celebrate technical innovation, adoption, and reception in the artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science industries.

“Fizyr's computer vision is a great example of the newest AI and machine learning technologies now allowing developers, engineers, and professionals to build upon the burgeoning AI/ML industry,” stated Jonathan Pasky, co-founder and executive producer of DevNetwork, producer of the AI DevWorld conference and the 2023 AI TechAwards.

“Today's digital economy increasingly runs on systems needing increased data and intelligence,” he said. “Fizyr's computer vision win here at the 2023 AI TechAwards is evidence of their leading role in the growth of the global AI ecosystem.”

AI vision enables more perceptive, useful robots, says Fizyr

The market for robotic picking will be worth $6.8 billion by 2030, up from $236 million in 2022, according to Interact Analysis. To address this growing demand, Fizyr said it has partnered with top integrators to develop systems for “significant unmet needs.”

“Working with Fizyr, integrators not only get the smartest, fastest, and most effective computer vision available to maximize robotic capabilities,” claimed the company, but “they [also] get a partner committed to collaboration and successful client outcomes, unrivaled pick-and-place robotics expertise, and a well-rounded approach to automation design and deployment.”

Delft, Netherlands-based Fizyr said its vision-based AI is compatible with all major robotics systems on the market. It enables robots to see, perceive, account for variances, learn, and perform more successfully than any other robotic software, the company said.

By reliably automating complex supply chain and logistics tasks, integrators no longer need to ask customers to settle for less-than-human performance, asserted Fizyr. The company said its approach to supervised machine learning uses cascade learning to streamline and accelerate performance and eliminate the 3% to 20% error rates that have held back automation.

Award criteria

The independent, expert-led DevNetwork AI Advisory Board said it selected the award winners based on criteria including:

  • Technical innovation
  • Attracting notable attention and awareness in the AI, machine learning, and data science industries
  • General regard and use by AI ecosystems and communities

Fizyr will be presented its AI TechAward during AI DevWorld 2023, which will run from Oct. 24 to 26 in Santa Clara, Calif., and Oct. 31 to Nov. 2, live online. The company recently opened U.S. headquarters in Dover, Del.

Fizyr offers advanced vision AI for robots, providing the smartest, fastest and most effective brain available to maximize robotic capabilities.
