Exotec has opened the Tokyo Demo Center, a dedicated urban showroom in Shin-Kiba, Koto-ku, Tokyo, to permanently display the company’s robotic solutions.
The facility will feature all of the standard elements of the Skypod System including the Skypod robots, modular storage racks, and picking stations. In addition to the standard modules, Exotec will also exhibit the Skypicker, the company’s robotic arm that picks goods carried by Skypod robots and places them into fulfillment containers.
The demo center will include a 360° “Immersive Space” and a “Service Center Area” to reproduce a typical warehouse environment where the system would be installed, allowing visitors to understand the technology in the context of an actual deployment.
This is Exotec’s first independent showroom with a Skypod system that includes both the Skypicker and an immersive virtual space.
Japan is a big market for Exotec
“Some of the biggest brands in the world have been using the Skypod system for years and we are excited to see growing adoption in the Japanese market,“said Romain Moulin, CEO of Exotec. “In recent years, companies like Fast Retailing, Yodobashi Camera, Alps Logistics, and Mitsui Fudosan have chosen Exotec as a strategic partner in their automation journey. This demo center will help provide our prospective customers with a first-hand experience of our technology.”
We believe that improving warehouse operations with robotics can have a massive impact on solving the “2024 problem” that looms over the industry,” said Ryu Tatewaki, managing director at Exotec Nihon. “The ability to consult our prospective customers and offer live demos of the system will help us further educate the market about the value that the Skypod system can bring to their operations.”
