Cimcorp Group, a manufacturer and integrator of turnkey robotic gantry-based order fulfillment and tire handling solutions, has announced CEO Doug Pickard’s retirement from Cimcorp Automation after leading the company, which he co-founded as RMT Robotics, for nearly 35 years.
His successor, operations manager Rick Trigatti, will expand his current responsibilities by stepping into the role of president of the company’s North American subsidiary. The transition was effective as of June 29.
After founding the company to introduce robotics and machine vision into the automotive industry, Pickard led the development of large, high-speed gantries that allow customers to sort, store and pick a large number of SKUs at very high rates. He also introduced ADAM, a mobile robot that can navigate autonomously outside of a staged laboratory environment, into industrial environments.
“It has been a privilege to lead this company through its numerous achievements and transitions, most recently as the North American subsidiary of Cimcorp,” Pickard said. “Looking forward, it is with great confidence that I leave the company in Rick’s capable hands. His vision and understanding of the industry and the opportunities that await will inevitably result in continued success for the Cimcorp brand.”
Trigatti joined Cimcorp, then RMT Robotics, in 2000 and led the software development and project management groups before becoming the operations manager for North America. During this time, he focused on operational efficiencies and maintaining consistent, predictable operations across the organization. Born and raised in Ontario, Canada, Trigatti attended the University of Waterloo where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering and a Master of Science degree in management of technology.
Trigatti, said, “I am excited to step into this new leadership role and help Cimcorp continue its quest to establish itself as global supplier of world-class order fulfillment and tire handling solutions. Continuing Doug’s innovative spirit, I look forward to bringing together a creative environment and efficient operations to achieve the near, mid- and long-term strategic goals of the company.”
With the recent union of Cimcorp’s Finland headquarters and its North American subsidiary under a single brand umbrella, the global company now offers one suite of solutions across the worldwide manufacturing and distribution landscape.
Masatoshi Wakabayashi, CEO, Cimcorp, said, “Cimcorp is making great strides to establish itself as a single, global resource for our manufacturing, distribution and warehousing customers. With Rick leading the North American market, we are in a position to build a team that not only works together to overcome challenges, but also understands how to make every play successful and reach the goal line.”
