Among the exhibitors at the Automate 2022 trade show and conference next week will be Bosch Rexroth AG. The company said its robotics hardware, software, and engineering innovation can help turn customers' manufacturing facilities into factories of the future.
Bosch Rexroth supplies drives and control technologies and said it has experience with mobile applications, machinery applications and engineering, and factory automation. Bosch Rexroth offers hydraulics, electric drives, gears, and linear motion and assembly technology. It also supplies software and interfaces to the Internet of Things (IoT). With locations in over 80 countries, more than 31,000 associates generated sales revenue of around €6.2 billion ($6.6 billion U.S.) in 2021.
The Lohr am Main, Germany-based company, whose Bosch Rexroth Corp. U.S. unit is in Charlotte, N.C., will be at Booth 3752 from June 6 to 9 in Detroit. Whether rendering manual processes, adding modular technology, or preparing to implement full Industry 4.0 connectivity, booth visitors can consult with Bosch Rexroth’s experts to get strategic approaches and practical advice.
The company added that its technology can help them build smarter, more productive manufacturing systems — and deliver them with maximum speed and minimal complexity.
Bosch Rexroth to feature key demos
Bosch Rexroth's booth at Automate will feature interactive exhibits and several demonstrations of systems, including a Smart Function Kit for Handling a multi-axis Cartesian robot, as well as an autonomous mobile robot (AMR) that uses Rexroth’s RoKIT locating software to navigate highly dynamic environments without human intervention.
The company will also show its ctrlX CORE controller, part of the award-winning ctrlX AUTOMATION controls and drive platform that it claimed “makes automation as easy as using a smartphone.” The booth demonstrations will include:
- MP1000R AMR: Using the RoKIT Locator Software, the MP1000R is able to navigate autonomously in highly dynamic environments without additional infrastructure. The company, which worked with Geek+, said the system that can replace manual forklifts and tuggers in manufacturing spaces, leading to improved efficiency and helping to protect workers from potential injury, claimed Bosch Rexroth.
- Flexible Transport System (FTS): This includes a magnetically propelled pallet transport system for high transfer speeds and precise pallet positioning. The company said it allows for independent and synchronized pallet movement, as well as integration into a traditional conveyor system.
- Smart Function Kit for Handling: Bosch Rexroth said its kiosk will include a presentation about the features and benefits of the Smart Function Kit for Handling, which can be combined with a working Cartesian multi-axis system. Booth visitors will be able to create its configuration output using adjacent Bosch Rexroth eTools software. The exhibit will present how predefined multi-axis combinations can be easily sized, configured, and ordered as one part number, said the company. In addition, the Smart Function Kit for Handling software app running on ctrlX allows fast commissioning through auto parameterization of the servo drive.
- ctrlX AUTOMATION Cube: This four-sided exhibit will showcase capabilities of the ctrlX CORE automation controller, according to Bosch Rexroth. The exhibit will use a working ctrlX CORE controller to highlight the system’s connectivity through various automation and IT networks. Along with details about new ctrlX AUTOMATION apps from third-party suppliers, booth visitors will be able to see how the ctrlX CORE communicates with other demos in the booth and be able to program motion sequences for the Smart Function Kit for Handling demo system.
