When Bastian Solutions was incorporated on October 31 1952, the company’s products consisted of conventional casters and shelving. Fast forward 60 years and the global material handling systems integrator is enjoying a record-setting year with sales that include robotics, software, and highly automated systems.
Along with the company’s growth in products and services is also a focus on global expansion to better serve an increasing number of customers around the world.
“In the last two years, we have opened several new offices, and so far in 2012, we have filled more than 50 new positions,” said Bill Bastian II, president of Bastian Solutions. “We continue to grow, which is a wonderful testament to our team’s hard work and dedication to delivering solutions that save labor and increase efficiency.”
In 2010, Bastian opened satellite offices in Toronto, Canada; Atlanta, Georgia (USA); and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Then in 2011, three additional offices were added in Sao Paulo, Brazil; Sydney, Australia; and Doha, Qatar. Along with the growth in offices, came the addition of more than 100 new employees in 2011 and 2012 and the merging of its sister companies, Bastian Software Solutions (supply chain software) and Bastian Automation Engineering (custom automation equipment).
As Bastian Solutions expands its global presence and service offerings, it is also continuing to invest in research and development for new technologies ranging from conveyors to mobile robotics. This has allowed the company to offer turnkey automation systems for e-fulfillment, distribution, and manufacturing customers worldwide.
“We have always strived to be an innovator in the field of material handling,” Bastian said. “It is one of the main reasons we continue to grow, and that kind of ingenuity will be an important catalyst as we move into the future.”
